3 Wrongs No Rights

My blog is a mash up of anything Supernatural, Harry Potter, Sherlock, and any show I am watching now or used to watch. I always encourage people to come talk to me (even though I don't get asks) and I am here for you if you need me. I will always talk about ships if you need someone to talk to :)

Hello, my name is Strong Female Character, and my secret power is reaffirming the heterosexuality of the disproportionately male cast.

"Except when I’m black, and then you must keep me 5000000000 feet away from any man.  No matter his race. Because I’m a strong independent [black] woman that doesn’t need a man… or some shit."

Like seriously, why isn’t pole dancing an olympic sport? This is freakin gymnastics. This is strength and skill. This is not sexual whatsoever. Why does pole dancing have to be so stigmatised as a sexual thing that only strippers do? I have great respect for all people who can pull this off. This is art and beauty right here.

HEY FUN FACT: pole dancing is known as something strippers do because strippers invented it. And that’s okay! It’s okay to have respect for strippers and the hard work they put into what they do! Let’s stop trying to take the stripper part out of pole dancing so upperclass white girls can do it without being ~stigmatized~ because god forbid women be sexual.

If at first you don’t succeed, redefine success.

I reblogged this at like 4am and I’ve spent the whole day thinking about it and randomly laughing

A character can still be a great character without being a good person.

In fact, some of the best characters are terrible people.

Because a character’s worth should be based on how complex and interesting they are, not their morality if they were real.

I keep saying that when people give me the stink eye for loving Cersei!

Hubble has spotted an ancient galaxy that shouldn’t exist

This galaxy is so large, so fully-formed, astronomers say it shouldn’t exist at all. It’s called a “grand-design” spiral galaxy, and unlike most galaxies of its kind, this one is old. Like, really, really old. According to a new study conducted by researchers using NASA’s Hubble Telescope, it dates back roughly 10.7-billion years — and that makes it the most ancient spiral galaxy we’ve ever discovered.

"The vast majority of old galaxies look like train wrecks," said UCLA astrophysicist Alice Shapley in a press release. "Our first thought was, why is this one so different, and so beautiful?"

Actually, I think the kid is playing Minecraft. Which is essentially digital Legos.

Two generations of creative people, just different methods of expression. Let’s not shit on the digital age as much, ‘eh?

You know what’s great about Minecraft?

You don’t get lacerations from stepping on it.

You know what’s great about legos?

Your shit doesn’t get blown up because a green penis snuck up on you.

Don’t judge a book by its cover? NO! People judge books by their cover! They fucking do it. They MUST judge books by covers!!! I am a designer! That’s what we do! TO MAKE PEOPLE JUDGE AND INTERESTED BY THE COVER!

my cousin, art student  (via thecaptainswanskiss)

As a librarian THIS IS SO TRUE. Good covers make or break books. Make it too feminine looking, a boy will never touch it (maybe you’re marketing to girls, but it seems like sometimes that’s cutting off a demographic depending on the book). Make it too dated looking or cheesy and NO ONE will touch it. Many a good book has been doomed by an ugly ass cover.

A book store owner and I were just talking about out facing books and how important that is the other day. You’ve got to flip the cover out to be visible because the cover is what makes you PICK THE BOOK UP.

Do you guys think we could ever live in a world without any crime? In high school, I had this discussion with my sociology teacher, and one theory was no, we can’t. Even if we had a world without murder, rape, and all that, the definition of crime itself would change in the hypothetical community. So perhaps something like dropping plates will have as much penalty as murder. And by this theory, a Utopian community can never exist.
